Sweetwater Lake - Dotsero, CO

Posted on 07/04/2008

We had Wednesday off to chill out and hang with family. All three of us slayed some buoys in the morning and we cleaned up Pete after a brutally long road trip. We went our separate ways after that. Marcus and I headed out with my dad, Jeff, to go do the family thing and get a break from the lake and rig. PJ stayed at the lake, skied one more time, and then his cousin from Aspen came to hang the rest of the night. Marcus and I stayed at my mom's (Cathy's) house for the first night out of the rig since May 9th. CRAZY it's already been that long! It was nice to be in a house not on wheels for a change!

Yesterday was the perfect day to get back in the swing of things. We had a small clinic at Sweetwater Lake, in Dotsero, CO. Good friends of Marcus, Mike and Heather Young, are the owners of the lake. It's a sick set up in the rockies just off of I-70. There's a huge dock, with 2 boat slips, tables, lounging lawn chairs, sandy beach/play area, trampoline, locker room, apartment above...top of the line for sure!
The water was glass most of the morning. We only had 4 skiers out today, which made for an easy day in the boat, more time for each skier to ski, and us a chance for us to get completely revived after that long trip. A HUGE thanks to Mike and Heather for letting us post up at your site for the last few days, use your lake, and for making another tour stop happen!

After the clinic we headed into Glenwood Springs to get some tasty grub with my brother (Luke) and good friend (Joanna). We were debating going out after dinner, but decided to head back to Pete so we could get up early in the morning for the Vail 4th of July parade...
